These Terms and Conditions outline the rights and responsibilities of individuals ("Speakers") who sponsor MelaninCon 2025 with their time and expertise. By agreeing to participate as a Speaker at MelaninCon 2025, you ("Speaker") accept the following terms:

1. Event Participation

As a Speaker, you will be required to participate in one or more panel discussions, presentations, or workshops during MelaninCon 2025, held on April 26, 2025, at the MLK Library in Washington, DC.

You agree to share your professional expertise and insights on the panel topic(s) assigned to you in advance, and to engage in discussions that foster a positive and productive environment for all attendees.

2. For Your Time and Participation

In exchange for your time and participation, you will receive the following non-monetary benefits:

Two VIP tickets to Culture & Cocktails, the Black Excellence Gala, and Noir Nouveau (a $600 value).

Professional networking opportunities with industry leaders, business owners, creatives, and professionals.

Brand visibility and promotion through MelaninCon's digital and physical marketing materials (website, social media, program guides).

Professional photography and videography content, which can be used for your personal branding and portfolio.

Official speaker credentials for your LinkedIn profile, website, or portfolio.

The opportunity to contribute to social impact initiatives benefiting Black communities and businesses.

3. Speaker Obligations

Speakers are required to attend preparatory meetings or rehearsals as deemed necessary by the MelaninCon organizing team.

You agree to promote your involvement in the event through your own social media channels and other marketing outlets.

Speakers are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully, in line with the values and mission of MelaninCon, which promotes diversity, inclusion, and empowerment of Black professionals and creatives.

4. Cancellations and Substitutions

If, for any reason, you are unable to participate in the event, you must notify MelaninCon in writing at least 30 days before the event date.

Any proposed substitutions must be pre-approved by the MelaninCon organizing team to ensure that the substitute speaker is qualified to discuss the assigned topic(s).

5. Confidentiality

As a Speaker, you may have access to confidential information regarding the event's sponsors, vendors, and other partners. You agree to keep such information confidential and not disclose it to any third parties without prior written consent from MelaninCon.

6. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. Any disputes arising from your participation as a Speaker will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in Washington, DC.

7. Acceptance of Terms

By agreeing to participate as a Speaker at MelaninCon 2025, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
